[Evolution] Using port 993

I am trying to confiugre evolution 2.2.3 on debian to connect with my IMAP
server. My server expects SSL-encrypted connections of port 993 (imaps).
But evolution keeps trying to contact my server on port 143 (imap2), even
though I have said "Use Secure Connection: Always". (Apparently it wants
to first make a non-SSL connection and then upgrade to a secure
connection.) How can I get evolution to connect to my secure IMAP server?
