I've read the help, I've gone through gconf-editor with a fine-tooth
comb, I've gone through the settings, and I've googled on it. I just
can't find any reference to text AND icons in evo. Put me out of my
misery and kick me in the right direction :-) PLEASE.
Theres a gnome-wide setting for this. Someone I'm sure will comment if
it can be overridden on a per-application basis (which may or may not be
what you want).
On my FC4 system its available under
Preferences -> Menu and Toolbars -> Toolbar button labels
And in Debian GNOME 2.10, it's Foot->Desktop->"Menus and Toolbars"
Thanks for continuing the input on this thread, Ron. However, in a
reply I sent yesterday I stated that those sorts of settings are not of
use because I don't choose to use the gnome WM, I use Xfce.
So, for me the only way to set things is in gconf - but I pointed out
yesterday that has no effect on my user's toolbar icons in evo. By
comparison with another gnome app, I can change the toolbar in galeon in
gconf (found under
"/apps/galeon/Toolbar/toolbar_override_stye/text_below"), but
reiterating that when I do the same system-wide settings under
"/desktop/interface/toolbar_style/both" it has no effect on evo's
buttons on the toolbar. So there I think is the problem: evo has given
away its capacity to set the toolbar unless using gnomw WM. There
certainly appears to be no app-specific setting for it that I've found
or been shown. Please prove me wrong :-/
Gavin.
