Have a look at libecal's headers, as well as libical's (for the parsing
of the vcf file).

What libical do you all use?  Debian dropped libical because it
was buggy and not maintained upstream.

I looked for a libical on my system, thinking that Evo might
have it's own forked version, but no luck.

evolution-data-server does include its own copy of libical, so it should
be installed with e-d-s, and the headers with e-d-s-devel packages

Does it have to be written in a 3GL, or do you know of any Python,
Perl, etc bindings for e-d-s?
