This should have gone to the list, as should have my answer.  Sorry.

OK for calendar and tasks you should use another tool, multisync.

Make sure that you are using maildir format for the mail folders you
want to sync.

I do NOT use merge or merge2.  The defaults (whatever they are) suffice
for me.

Here is my preferences file:
