A few hours ago, I sent examples to this list that show that
forwarding attachments in 1.5.93 doesn't work. Note that the
attachments were "Suggest automatic display".
Works for me.
And yes, I certainly tested every claim I made in my previous post
before writing it. I just tested, without sending any test mail to this
list.
Although this still is 1.5.92.1, but AFAIK there where no changes
regarding this part of the Mailer since then.
Forwarding inline *will* include any attachments in the mails body, *if*
it is text format. There is no way of sending images inline in
text/plain messages, for example.
They were, in fact, images that I tried to "double forward".
So what about the solutions I already posted in my first reply?
* Forward as Attachment. This will inherit any attachments, regardless
of the MIME type and the format of your mail. And the origin of any
attachment will be clear without confusion.
* Drag-n-drop: If you insist on attaching files to replies or inline
forwards, you can simply dnd them. Keep in mind though, that this will
look like these attachments are originating from you, according to the
recipient.
