Ah, gotcha. So here are my results. What I'm pasting here is the
messages as they were displayed in my procmail log and on the evolution
console.

I sent some emails from another email client (not even connected to my
imap server). Procmail says this:

I then press send/receive and see this on the console:

folder 'Sent-To/suppressingfire' changed
update 1 folder 'Sent-To/suppressingfire'

set unread count 0x83b2310 '/Sent-To/suppressingfire' 1

Which is presumably correct operation because everything gets emboldened
correctly. I then sent another message (and some were delivered).
Procmail says this:

I press send/receive again, and nothing appears on the console.
Sent-From isn't emboldened. The next thing that appears on the console
is after I selected the ximian/evolution folder:

set unread count 0x83b2310 '/ximian/evolution' 16

(And Sent-From is still not emboldened).
