I've got another problem/bug. I've got more than 10 "auto

And every time I restart Evolution a new entry is created. Did someone notice
this problem as well?

Hi,
I also noticed the same problem. And I filed it as bug also.

this was fixed in 1.5.7 (tho you'll still have to delete all the autogen
signatures using gconf-editor or gconftool-2)

Not to sound dense (well, okay, maybe ;), but could you be more specific
about what needs to be edited for those of us (okay, me) who aren't as
used to hacking this kind of thing?

Start up gconf-editor. Expand into apps->evolution->mail and look for
the key signatures. Double click on it and it will open a dialog that
will allow you to remove signature entries.

Although using any of the many "autogenerated" signatures looks the
same, the XML entries all have a different UID entry. So, the changing
UID must be session related and that is causing the new entries.
