Okay.. Now Here's my question.. Do we really need swap space?? I have 512MB
on my laptop. Swap is also 512MB, of which I can see only like 40Mb is used.
I'm not even sure why, since there's like over 200MB Free RAM!
Sure, you can disable it. I haven't measured the performance, but I
suppose that it will improve the performance since swapping is so slow.
The problem is that when you once you fill up your physical memory, any
process that tries to allocate memory will probably crash and burn.
Since I (currently) run with a lot of extra memory, I haven't had this
happen yet. When I start running VMWare again, I'll probably have to
re-arrange my partitions and re-enable swap.
