nope, but I have a similar problem with 1.2.4 that no one else seems to

select a different folder to file sent mail in.

For some unknown reason, an yet unmentioned workaround just hit my mind.
You can define a Filter for 'outgoing' mail, that will move your mails
to the desired folder.

that should do it, and will be less disk-thrashing than my current
"every now and then go select the misfiled messages from Sent and move
them."

btw: Have you tried Evo 1.4? Hopefully your problem will go away with
the new release...

nope, bitter experience has made me pretty conservative about mixing and
matching -- I stick to what came with the distro unless the component
being discussed is small and simple enough to fit in /usr/local with a
minimum of fuss. That rules out most GNOME or KDE programs, they rely
too much on big plumbing items like bonobo, gconf, etc. That may not be
the case with 1.4, but my distro of choice comes out with new releases
every six months any way so it's not that big of a deal to wait. I'd
like to help beta test, but I haven't the time for anything significant
and the risk level for mail/calendar/contacts is too high.

Now back to the 1,554 messages that arrived while I was on vacation...
