Note that I said "from the user point of view". I completely understand
your point, and recognize that it is a significant one.

provides no functionality that couldn't be provided by other
planned/existing UI elements.
Agreed. In fact from my POV, I'd be a lot happier with a configurable
folder monitor and dependable new mail refreshing of those monitors. I
have no other use for the Shortcut bar.
