I use gentoo and installed evolution-1.2.1 and this problems are strange
indeed:
I set up an account using imap to retrieve email from my mail server.
When evolution is started the account tries to connect to the mail
server and no mail is retrieved. However on the mail server the maillog
has this:
Jan 13 09:46:52 ozob imapd[14983]: Login user=ebi1 host=go2.ozob.net
[216.131.4.131]
Jan 13 09:46:52 ozob imapd[14984]: imap service init from 216.131.4.131
and no mail is retrieved.
I get a logout message when evolution is stopped:
Jan 13 22:47:20 ozob imapd[15985]: Logout user=ebi1 host=go2.ozob.net
[216.131.4.131]
I have twelve accounts to manage mailing lists and all of these stay
connected while evolution is running:
root ozob:/var/log# netstat
Active Internet connections (w/o servers)

If however I edit the account and change 'Server Type' to 'POP' then the
account dissappears out of the 'Folder' bar. If however I change 'Server
Type' back to 'IMAP' then the account reappears in the 'Folder' bar and
the account works. However this is not persistent accross sessions.
Every time I start evolution I have to repeat the above proceedure to
get the accounts working.
Most bizarre. Anyone got any clues to this problem? This is most
frustrating.
Thanks,
Gene
