Re: [Evolution] Threading

I noticed that on mailing lists, threads are often broken. In some
cases, it's just because evo does apparently not thread by Subject
(which, if it did, I'd want to be able to switch off in any case),

Evo 1.0.x was threading by subject, Evo 1.2.x determines from other
header entries -- and works better IMHO.

If you want Evo 1.2.x to thread by subject, here is a hint from Jeffrey
Stedfast <fejj ximian com>:

--- snip ---
I think what you are looking for is "thread based on subject" which we
used to have in 1.0.x (then everyone complained, so we removed it - and
now everyone is complaining that we *don't* thread by subject anymore -
*sigh*, the pain never stops ;-)

anyways, you can manually re-enable this hidden feature by editing
~/evolution/config.xmldb and setting the thread_subject value to "1"
instead of "0".
--- snip ---

I've asked the author of the offending message what mailer he used, I'll
report back when I get an answer.

That mailer doesn't leave an header entrie like X-Mailer: ?
