[Evolution] Fwd: Request for additions/corrections in Evolution

I subscribed to this list in hopes of finding answers to the two things
Evolution still lacks before I can switch from KMail. I've found my answers
all right, but not the ones I was expecting.

I've been increasingly uncomfortable with the attitude of certain Evolution
developers on this forum concerning enhancements/bug fix requests from users.
I don't know if I even dare mention the two missing features that I will need
before I can switch.

I'm not impressed with "get used to it" and "it's not life-threatening"
responses to requests for things that KMail ALREADY DOES (including the
"different colors for different levels of quotes" thing, which is quickly
turning into a flame war). Sure, I'd love to write the code myself but I
haven't written any code in ten years and I'm no longer young. Even back
then I wasn't all that good at hacking code.

I have a strong preference for the Gnome environment over KDE but for now I
think I'm going to have to be content with KMail (fortunately it runs under
Gnome) and wait for Evo to mature. Hopefully its developers will mature as
well.

Oh yeah, in case anyone's interested -- the two features I will need in order
to be persuaded to switch are:

1) Ability to designate a program, rather than a file, as a signature (I use
a fortune-like script to autogenerate my sigs -- see an example below)

2) I use GnuPG encryption extensively. When I'm replying to an encrypted
email, I REALLY need the decrypted plaintext, not the ciphertext, to be what
gets quoted in the composer window.  Cutting and pasting is not acceptable;
it's a waste of time and I don't have to do it with my present mail client
(KMail just asks for my passphrase again, and then quotes the decrypted
message in a composer window).

It doesn't matter to me whether you ever implement these features or not,
since a tool already exists that does everything I want (and most of what
others have been asking for here). But I won't be deploying Evolution on any
systems that *I* build for other people until I see these features -- and a
little more professionalism and courtesy on the part of the developers.
