FWIW.  Since the rebuild to anonCVS of around 36 hours ago, I have not
seen the problem.

One thing I did somewhat differently is a "make distclean" on soup, gal,
gtkhtml, and evolution - and then completely rebuild them.

Rich, have you tried a completely fresh, from scratch build?  Just
trying to determine if the CVS update or the distclean was the thing
that fixed it.  (of course it has only been one day, it may come back)
