Well, I spent the weekend upgrading to Mandrake 8.1 and re-installing
Ximian GNOME. I was looking forward to finally having spell checking in
Evolution, but it still doesn't work. Here is what is installed:

evolution-1.0.2-3.ximian.1
aspell-0.33.7.1-1.1mdk
libaspell10-0.33.7.1-1.1mdk
aspell-en_GB-0.33.7.1-1.1mdk
libpspell4-0.12.2-2.1mdk
gnome-spell-0.4-ximian.2

In "Control Centre -> HTML Viewer -> Miscellaneous" Tab I have "Enable
Spell Checking" checked, and the language specified as "en_GB".

Try to use just "en". Language selection will be improved in future
versions.

That doesn't make any difference, I'm afraid. I just quit evolution, and
ran killev, then changed the language setting in the Control Centre to
"en" (without the quote marks), and restarted Evolution. It is still not
highlighting any misspelled words, and Edit -> Spell check document ...
still says "No misspelled words found". (Naturally I am making sure that
the message has plenty of misspelled words first.)

Are any other Mandrake 8.1 / Evolution 1.0.2 users reading this? Is
spell-checking working for you?

I have spell check sort of working on Mandrake 8.1,,I have the same
packages installed, and when I type in a misspelled word, it has the
"squigly" underline under it, but if I right click on the word, or
choose spell check from the menu, the message test window disappears?

I running this under KDE 2.2.2.
