This is one of the reasons I really want the ability to see the name and

past, and for some strange reason the design decision was to hide the
e-mail address. Hopefully CVS Head has this capability. I _really_
hope it's in 1.2... Or at least have a tooltip that shows up when the
cursor is over a particular name.

I don't see why this is really a problem... if there's any ambiguity,
you have to choose using the completion dropdown, which shows you the
email addresses. So you should always know what email address is behind
the name... well, if you're editing a saved draft, I guess one could
well forget which address it was, but really how often is that an issue?

I prefer the way Mozilla shows it. Sure I can see the e-mail address
when I first type it in and select it from the pulldown, but I want to
see it after I'm done. I want an easy way to double-check that the
e-mail addresses (NOT just the names) are what I want before sending.
Right now I can right-click on every single one to make sure, but that's
horribly inefficient.

I know I'm not the only one who wants this behavior. I seem to recall
that when this was last discussed (quite a while ago), some of the
Ximian developers wanted what I described as well, but the decision from
above was what is currently implemented. Probably to make it more like
Outlook.

At least, _please_ make it a configurable option. Some want it one way,
others want it the other.
