Did you run killev (or even oaf-slay) before firing up evo again?
Often that helps if some components are still active.
Or you could try to start an empty search after restoring the folder.
#1. When I compose a message, click 'To:' to select a contact, It
defaults to the 'Contacts' folder, so I have to switch everytime to
'Work Contacts'
#2. I can no longer use "nicknames" to quickly pull up an entry when
composing a message, probably due to #1
In Evo-CVS, you are able to select auto-completion folders in the
config. That would solve #2. I'm not sure if something like this is
possible in 1.0.8
