Re: [Evolution] emails not sent - no errors tho - but composer recovers after restarting evolution

This is happening often enough I think I need to open a bug in bugzilla.
This error manifests itself when I try to send an email using the send
button from the composer button.

I get the following error message:

Error while 'Sending "...":
RCPT TO response error: Broken pipe: mail not sent

I press ok

composer window is still up so I press send again

it looks like it gets sent (composer window disappears)
but instead the email just sits
wherever composer stores its "unsaved mails" and when you restart
evolution you are given a chance to recover unsaved mails.

IMHO this behaviour is misleading - don't you think?

This is using MS-Exchange as my SMTP server - note that this doesn't
happend everytime, i.e., some mail is sent just fine - but I think
once this error occurs, all new mail sent out just disappears into
the composer graveyard.

Could be a number of things, to bugs, to downed servers causing long
delays etc. Mail is sent ina separate thread, so it wont block the gui
even if it takes a long time to send it, or gets stuck forever in a
loop. The 'stop' button should have been active though, indicating
something is still running.

The autosave files aren't removed till its successfully sent the message
afaik.

I just had a weird thing happen - I thought I was successfully sending
out e-mail all day (ie., there were no errors that I recall). The
problem was they weren't sent. I started poking around in the Sent
folder and didn't see them. Hmm, I thought. So I exited evolution and
restarted. I then started a new composer window, it asked me if I
wanted to recover my previous editing sessions. Boy, was I surprised -
I thought those email were long sent. Any idea what could have caused
this behaviour? This is with the latest snapshot, rh7.1.
