Re: [Evolution] An easy way to import Contacts from exchange?

You can save one Contact at a time in vcard-format
from outlook and then import it to evolution, but that takes
a _lot_ of time.

You can select all of them in Outlook and do right-click -> "Forward
items" to export all of them quickly, but then you still need to add
them one at a time in Evolution.

But it would be easy to write a command-line utility that uses camel
to extract the vcards from the message and the wombat to add them to
the addressbook...

One solution would be the to export those contacts from
exchange in csv or tab-limited text format and then convert them to
vdf-files. Has anybody done this? Or is there a .pst to .vcf
converter available? Or anything?

Netscape for Windows might do .pst to .vcf... ?

As with mail, one problem is that when Outlook exports to a
non-proprietary format, it doesn't export all of the info. I don't
know if exporting as vcards contains more of the missing data than
exporting as csv though.

Chris Lahey was working on csv import at one point. Not sure what the
status of that is.
