I'll try Alec's work around as soon I have some time.
Hey! It was my idea first! ;-)
Anyhow, it's simple enough if you have a decent machine. Just get all
the SRPMS and rebuild them in the exact order the snapshots are built
(for minimum hassle), rpm -Uvh each package after they're done
rebuilding.
xml-i18n-tools -> oaf -> GConf -> gnome-vfs -> bonobo -> gal -> gtkhtml
-> evolution
I get it done in around 35 minutes or so.
I've worked for a couple of hours to try to make this work, but
unfortunately I can't move past gnome-vfs. I was able to build the SRPMS
up to GConf, and upgrade xml-i18n-tools and oaf using the binary RPMs
that resulted. However, when I tried to upgrade GConf from the just
built binary RPM, I got a complaint that /usr/lib/libgconf-gtk-1.so.1
was needed. I thought that this would go away when I replaced the rest
of the components from the 013017 snapshot, so I forced the upgrade. But
later on, the build of gnome-vfs from SRPM failed, exactly for the same
reason. I messed around with this for a while, uninstalling and
installing components from scratch again, but to no avail. I had to
revert everything to the 013017 distribution.
Any suggestions on what I might try next?
Thanks
