Is there something special I need to do to get an SSL IMAP connection?
I compiled from CVS and config.h contains HAVE_SSL=1 and the
evolution-mail file shows that it links to libssl. When I set up my
IMAP mailbox it says "SSL not available with this build" or something
like that.
If you build your own version of Evolution you should get rid of any
other Evolution installations ie. under RedHat you would get rid of the
Red Carpet installed evolution RPM. Before that though execute following
command
killev
and
oaf-slay
that should make Evolution clean-up after itself since even when you
close Evolution there are processes related to Evolution that are still
running.
Only when you have removed the old installation of Evolution can you
start your new version.
Potential problems:
My "home brewed" version of Evolution installs in /usr/local so I would
get messages like "Cannot Open Evolution Shell" when starting my own
version. I resolved the problem by copying the contents of
/usr/local/share/oaf
to
/usr/share/oaf
Hope this helps.
