There should be another star icon, inside the address bar itself, to
the left of all of those buttons. It should turn yellow on pages
that
are bookmarked. If it's not yellow, you should be able to click on

to bookmark the page. Does that work?
Maybe I should also mention another detail. Selecting the star gives
me All by default, and also Tags. Somehow, almost a year ago when
this
problem began, I managed to add the current page to the Tags list. I
don't remember how I did this, but while the address of the page was
'saved', it isn't in the bookmarks list 'proper'. So the result was
not entirely satifactory, since I do not wish to somehow add another
tag for each page I wish to bookmark.
This is weird. Every bookmark included in the Tags view should also
be
visible in the All view. That's the point of having the All view, of
course.

There's a way to delete all the selected bookmarks with one click? It's
very uncomfortable to delete them one to one.
