I have ubuntu 8.0.4 (hardy). I've tried the install - am I not formatting this correctly, or do I need to have a specific repository in my source list? By the way, I'm typing a number zero and not a letter o in lib4vl-0.

spencer spencer-desktop:~$ sudo aptitude install libv4l-0

Again, thanks.

I don't think I know how to install libv4l-0 (I'm very new to Linux), or compile ptlib specifically with libv4l support. Anyone willing to take pity on me?
It should come with ubuntu. Do you know how to install a ubuntu package? What ubuntu version do you have?

Is the Ubuntu version of Ekiga compiled with it ?
