I would love to use ekiga,
but vlc works for me, ekiga does not. 
I am having problems with the quality and the bandwidth,
will need to setup some better way to distribute the data.

ideally, the ekiga should be able to accept a pipe with the video stream as well, then you could use any tool to produce the video stream.

I don't see why , libs and components are pretty the same. 

Ekiga & Vlc in terms of quality should be quite the same ( 30 fps , H264 , VGA )
