You need to make sure that the XDG_DATA_DIRS environment variable contains the path /usr/local/spu/assorted/e/easytag/easytag-20151005-2001/share/. Otherwise, GLib cannot find the compiled schemas. I have no idea how you would do this for your desktop launcher (as it would be the parent process, from which the environment would be inherited).
