The next version will be 0.1.0 and am awaiting subversion migration to 
complete before checking in. However the existing code in 0.0.4 is good 
enough for trying out the file indexing with nautilus search and Deskbar.

Most of the new stuff in the new version is basically richer first class 
object interfaces, keywords (tags) and metadata.

2.18 is what Im aiming for. (the proposal round comes shortly after 2.16 
is finished)

Tracker is already fully usable for file indexing so from that 
perspective it is *ready*

The page is not as up to date compared to the README file in tracker's 
tarball.

Most people who has used tracker have commented that its very stable 
with very few issues (its a very well behaved daemon that does not spike 
much in memory usage nor does it hog cpu too much - in fact in most 
cases you wont even notice it running).
