If only Rosetta[1] was free software, we could think of installing
something like that (tailored to our own needs) in order to provide a
friendly interface for localization as an alternative to the VCS.
1) Launchpad already knows about all the GNOME projects. Would it be possible to use Rosetta actually on Launchpad just for the translation part of each project? (From my limited knowledge of Launchpad, I think it would.)
2) Aren't they planning on freeing Rosetta eventually? Maybe suggesting that we would use it would push them over the edge?
3) Both of the above?
4) Kartouche?
5) Pootle?
