In case anyone cares, I've finished my patch, it now treats system
dependent information in a common way, adding a dependency to the system
tools backends and libxml (this maybe could be done with gmarkup,
though)

The init.d script is still pretty suse dependent, but I think that it's
fixed in the Matthew's patch
