The dbus issue I think meebey (the guy who does most of the packaging of Mono in Debian/Ubuntu) just committed a workaround for in GConf#, since marking libdbus thread safe has been deemed unsuitable by that upstream. The commit to his repo: https://github.com/meebey/gnome-sharp/commit/e9d06b56a54dcd399d1d3eaaf62bdacb7e07084dThe relevant bug in the GNOME bug tracker: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=683830Your Banshee experience will likely be better if you convince Fedora to include that commit, I will poke meebey about pushing it upstream.
I'm not familiar with the associated code, but I'm assuming this is a much better place for the initialisation workaround than the GConf2 patch I've been using up until now. I've had some trouble getting in touch with Fedora's gnome-sharp maintainer (regarding another package), and as I'm not a provenpackager I can't help to patch gnome-sharp directly, but I'll see what I can do to help push things on the Fedora side. -- Regards, Theo
