For what it's worth, this issue is caused by something corrupting the sqlite database (maybe a system crash or unexpected loss of power while Banshee was running).  Strictly speaking, this is out of Banshee's control, but Banshee could probably handle the problem better, and maybe even assist in the recovery of the database.  See: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=621057

Also, if this ever happens again, you probably don't have to lose all of your data to recover from this.  See the very bottom of Banshee's FAQ for a few simple instructions on restoring the corrupted database: http://banshee.fm/support/faq/
