To add some more details :
- The sample extension is in the banshee source tree, in
src/Extensions/Banshee.Sample/, along all the other core extensions.
- Some third party extensions are listed here :
http://banshee-project.org/download/extensions/

My advice would be to try to find an extension that does something
vaguely similar to what you want to do, and start from there.

I'd be happy to try to answer any specific question you might have.
