I thought about the smart playlist functions; but that limits me to either
ALL unplayed songs, or specific groups.
For instance, I have a smart playlist that is comprised of three different
genres. So that smart playlist has to be defined to show ANY of the
following criteria - if I add "play count is under zero" to that playlist,
it then shows my entire unplayed library. Instead of the unplayed within
that smart playlist. The other option would be to define the playlist to
show ALL of the following criteria - which is then nothing.
Correct, a given Smart Playlist can only specify the OR or AND
operator for all its conditions.
You can work around this by creating another Smart Playlist that
references the genre one as a condition, and also specifies the
playcount condition.
Totally, which brings me back to my issue of not being able to shuffle
according to a smart playlist with more than one grouping criteria -
like 3 genres for instance. All I can do is shuffle ALL unplayed tracks
in my library or sort a smart playlist to one criteria + unplayed.
And, again, it's just one of those little things that "would be nice".
Perhaps, a trivial feature. ;)
