Since Beagle, Tracker, and most of the other desktop indexers seem to
either plan to implement (Tracker) or have implemented (Beagle) a
Xesam[1] interface, maybe building such a plugin against Xesam would be
a good idea?
Browsing the (not-quite-finalised) DBUS interface specification[2], it
seems that all you'd have to do is to open a live query for "music"
files and hook up to the "HitsAdded" signal.
