If the application crashed, there is going to be output on the command
line of some sort - and that's the bottom line unless you are in some
strange environment or are redirecting stdout/stderr.

Chances are that the entire crash is dumped to the terminal, but if not,
perhaps "Segmentation Fault" is. You'll need to run through gdb if this
is the case, and that is explained fully on the debugging page above.
