A lot of these depends can be configured around. If you don't want to
use helix, but gstreamer instead ./configure --disable-helix I think
will get rid of it. You might also check out ./configure --help for
more such commands. It might save you some time in the future. You do
definitely need mono though.

If you don't have an iPod, no point in compiling that in, etc.

1.1.10 or higher.  So, I can't configure banshee.
