Re: [Banshee-List] Importing files problem, stops at 28%

Now, I installed the package "build-essentials" so make will work.

Are you all getting tired of this?  Sorry.  Now, when compiling banshee, I get the message that mono isn't installed, but it is.

I may need to go to bed. :-)

Okay, fellows.

I have found and downloaded the files helix-dbus-server and dependancies, from Debian.org

So, I cd to the helix-dbus-server file, and type ./config.  I get a config file.  But when I typed 'make' I get the "there is no command 'make' message.

Am I completely screwed up?  Or is this not how to build a package?  .config-->make-->makeinstall  right??

Whew.  this is all more complicated than I thought.  :-)

Thanks, Evandro!  That solved that problem, but now I have a new one.  I installed gcc, because that was missing.  Now I get this message:

checking for HELIX_REMOTE... configure: error: Package requirements (helix-dbus-server >= 0.2) were not met:

No package 'helix-dbus-server' found

I have searched in Synaptic, and also tried to apt-get it, without any hits.  I've got just about everything I know enabled in my /etc/apt/sources.list.

So, another newbie problem.  Can you point me in the right direction?

You need the libxml-parser-perl package.
