Hi,
I recently found out that the old GStreamer equalizer bit has been
successfully ported to the new gstreamer. The code is here:
http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/extragear/multimedia/amarok/src/engine/gst10/equalizer/
Can this code be reused for the purpose of completing the equalizer?
(helix and my xine backends already have support and most of the gui
code is in svn).
The issue is the license - GPL2, whereas libbanshee is MIT. May be
this can be ported to a separate libgstequalizer GPL2 licensed
library?
I've done a bit of research and writing an equalization from scratch
seems to be very nasty. May be it's the reason why the code above is a
port of the old gst element and the old gst equalizer is actually a
port of the xmms equalization code. Most of the code I found on the
net was based on the xmms equalization code as well. :-)
What do you think?
Cheers,
