I just upgraded to balsa 2.3.25 with no  change.  Renaming .balsa just 
made things worse (it got confused about filters and other things.)  My 
gmime is 2.2.17.  I have 2.2.22 available as a masked version - so I'll 
give that a try.  (sorry for the bad webmail quoting)
