That is *definitely* complete crap, I kept the usual headers, just to show that it works...

Yes, I also ran into those issues!  The solution might to just add a proper style removing the space between the paragraphs (as with this message), so the html message looks more or less like the stuff in Balsa's composer.  Afaict, GtkHtml does not interpret the style correctly (as it still shows the extra space), but Epi, Firefox and Safari do, and the w3c validator also accepts it.

 

What do you think - go ahead with this & the multipart/alternative?
