Hi Pawel,
I think:) you should refine the way, the external editor is
used by balsa.

At the moment to write in Hebrew/Arabic ecetera
you Have to change the gnome text editor to Katoob

via desktop>sytems preferences>preffered application on the gnome
desktop.. ((This wont work in some distros such as debian))

Then choose edit>edit with gnome editor from the compose window of

If you could choose your external editor from preferences within
balsa and launch your external editor from an icon on the compose
window toolbar I think it would be easier.

That's an interesting idea! Personally, I like having the "edit with Gnome-Editor" on that menu, since a user presumably has set up the desktop preferences to taste. But, recognizing that editing an email message isn't the same as editing a general text file, we could perhaps add another menu item, say "edit with Email-Editor", and a pref item on the "Outgoing" page like:

Preferred Email-Editor: | |

The "edit with Email-Editor" menu item would be grayed out if no editor has been set.

Just to help my own understanding of the issue: what does Katoob offer over, say, Gedit, in editing rtl text?
