Re: timer for marking as unread

I think this would be a very useful feature for those of us who use the
preview window. A lot of times, if I open a folder that has one unread
message in it, it is marked read before balsa stops drawing the index on the
screen. This causes me to think that I have not gotten any new mesasges in
that particular folder.

Another case where it would be useful is when you
have a list of new messages in the index, and again you are using the
preview window. If I want to navigate from the first unread message to the
fifth, and use the keyboard to do it, all messages between them get marked as
read, which is not necessarily the expected behavior.

If you are not using the preview window, then this feature is not useful, but
as the original poster said, you can simply set the default to 0.

I've never understood the point of this facility. Unread is unread. How
would one know whether an unread message contains something important if it
is marked as read before you get round to reading it? Is one supposed to
read one's read messages? Or am I missing the point?
