Re: COSCUP/GNOME.Asia Summit 2010 IRC meeting preparation May 18, 13:30 UTC

Hi Pockey, Emily, and others in the Committee,

Please add one more agenda item into the IRC meeting today/tonight, and actually we agree to have the meeting at 10pm (2pm UTC) instead of 9:30pm (1:30pm UTC) because we need to move from Tossug to another place anyway we might as well do our friends in the U.S. a favor.

The agenda item to add is the following, and I prefer to have it as the first item:

- How to make decisions that needs agreement from both GASC and CT

The reason is that not every core member of CT can keep up with IRC discussions in English or express themselves accurately in English in IRC. Inspired by the way IRC time options were listed by Pockey, we prefer to take issues offline, elaborate a few options, and make a prioritized list of answers. Then I will bring this list to you to find a mutually agreeable solution.

With such a list in place, it becomes hard to vote. How many votes does it count? If it counts as 15 votes as CT has 15 group leaders, it outnumbers GASC already and voting is meaningless. If it counts as 1 vote that's obviously not fair.

The CT propose that instead of voting, we negotiate. GASC can also make a prioritized list of answers, and let me work with you on behalf of CT to find the most preferred solutions by matching these 2 lists. This matching should be done either on mails to both mailing lists or in a regular IRC meeting.

ernest,

3) Discuss about web development - 10 mins

4) Budget updates - 10 mins
