I don't see a problem, I have imagined to do something like checking if 
I have the macro AC_PROG_CC and if yes add all C header files as 
children of each package.

So mixed C and vala projects will be handled like C projects and only 
vala only projects will not have these header files. Anyway, I think 
it's a rather minor improvement but it shouldn't be difficult to implement.
