The only thing I'd mention there is longer freezes for release checking.

I've been told that there are people already working on impoving the
whole building and release process (not sure of the specifics) so I
shan't witter on with more ideas and opinions (hell, everybody has them)
since others are already making _real_ progress.  (I would have been far
less vocal on the matter had I known about this previously!)
