[Banshee-List] Distorted sound after banshee update?

Hi guys,

I've something weird going on, which I don't know if it's related to Banshee or not. I'm running karmic, on a box with HDMI digital audio output. Back then when set it up, I had to manually update ALSA to get the sound working (i think it was to 1.0.21). Now, after updating Banshee to 1.5.4, the sound (in general, not just banshee) is totally distorted (and i really mean TOTALLY). I've tried a manual update to alsa 1.0.22 but didn't change a thing.

Has anyone experienced something like that?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post it, but I've no idea what could be the cause of this issue or how to solve it.
