This problem isn't solved in 2.6.22 versión and appears to be in more headers than "valid.h".

Is espected to be solved in any release?

It will be solved when someone considers it a problem and fixes it.

Do whatever you can to make this easier and it will be fixed faster !

It is open-source, we usually take patches, there is a bugzilla, etc ...
Trying to work with an OSS project by just asking
"when is my problem then noone else is seeing gonna be fixed ?"
very unlikely to be effective.

List the headers, list the changes needed, provide a patch, use bugzilla,
those steps might have actually got your problem fixed by 2.6.22 . Without
those you're just waiting for someone else to consider this important and
fix it for you, since it's not even in bugzilla or on a platform that I
use there is zero chances that I would do it myself, and the only other
answer you got on the list was clearly it was not libxml2 project problem...

Open source is a *process*, follow the process ...
( hi list )

That's for sure, but I think you just don't get it. I hope this will help understanding the point, no offense, this is not my aim. I use libxml for months and this is a good project.

Many users want a library to produce xml, they see that libxml2 is good for that, and decide to use it. They don't matter about which licence it is, and maybe they don't want to develop it, and most of them will not even be able to do it.

Using a open source project does not imply developping it. I think this is better, because I like open source projects, but many users don't care.

I'm sorry, this is off topic, but, I just want to say it, because of libxml2 is a good project, and I hope it will be for years ( I'm sure ).

Daniel
