XML, use a subset, call it RFSML or whatever but not XML
...
Interestingly, your subset proposal is almost exactly what SOAP says to
do. You go further, proposing *only* UTF-8, but other than that they're
pretty much aligned.
The idea of KSXML (kernel-safe XML) is an interesting one.
