Why do you think 2. belongs to the libxml2 library? You can implement
it on top of it yourself, it's not that hard. And if perl isn't
problem, you may use my XUpdate implementation based on XML-LibXML
perl binding for libxml2. You'll find it on cpan.org as
XML::XUpdate::LibXML.
