There has been quite a few updates since I initially posted the code,
but none on the protocol level... only bug fixes and the like (64 bit
cleannes of icon code was especially nasty ;))

I don't recall the exact differences, but if necessary I can take some
time in the next couple of days to put together a differences list.

FWIW, KDE2 is already using the NET spec, based on the classes that I
wrote.  As proof of concept (and design), I would say that this spec is
ready.
