The WebKitGTK 1.0 bindings are quite old and incomplete.  I hate to recommend such a hack, but if you need 
WebKit in a Vala project, you might consider pulling our WebKitGTK 3.0 bindings from here:
http://git.yorba.org/cgit.cgi/geary/tree/vapi
